Main tasks of ecological NGOs:

• ecological education and training
• popularization of healthy living
• ecological monitoring and public awareness
• public ecological expertises.

The tendency of the last years is a growth of professionalism and spesialisation of NGOs. The most noticeable of them are the Association of Teachers-Ecologists “Beagle”, the Association of Experts in Rational Use of Water, Earth and Energy Resources, NGO “Sustainable Nature Use”.

Ecological NGOs are allocated irregularly in the regions of Kyrgyzstan. The lowest percent of them is in the Talas (0.8%) and Chui (1.6%) oblasts. In Djalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul and Naryn oblasts – 9.8 and 5% correspondently. More than 75% of NGOs are in Bishkek and Osh.
