The Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzstan) is located in the center of the Asian continent at the north-east of Central Asia between 39° and 43° of northern latitude and 69° and 80° of eastern longitude. At the north the Republic shares borders with Kazakhstan, at the south-east and at the east with China; at the south-west and at the west with Uzbekistan.
Administratively, Kyrgyzstan is divided into 7 regions (oblasts as administrative units) and the city of Bishkek, the capital of the Republic.
